Rules
1. Stand in a circle. Cut a length of string so
that it can be made into a loop, big enough so that everyone can
hold of it with both hands and have some slack. Put ring on the
string so that it can slide up and down the string. Tie the ends
of the string together.
2. Choose someone to stand in the centre of the
circle. They must cover their eyes while everyone in the circle
chants "who's got the ring, the ring on a string, who's got
the ring, the ring on a string" while the circle players passes
the ring from player to player.
3. The chant is repeated once more and then the
person who's in the middle can open their eyes. Everyone keeps hold
of the string with both hands and tries to make it look like they
are holding the string.
4. The person in the middle then has to guess
who is holding the ring. The person indicated, has to let go of
the string to show that they either had the ring or not.
5. If the person in the middle guesses wrong,
the person in the middle gets to take their turn in the middle.
If the person in the middle chooses correctly, they have another
turn.
