Hopscotch

What You'll Need

You will need a hopscotch court painted on your playground floor

A hopscotch court

History
Hopscotch dates back to the Roman Empire. Roman soldiers would use hopscotch courts over 100 feet in length for training purposes. They would run the course if full armour so that they could improve their footwork for battle. Roman children copied the soldiers and changed the exercise into a game by adding a scoring system. It was brought to Britain and the rest of Europe by the Roman settlers. Today hopscotch is played throughout the world. All you need is some chalk and a marker like a small stone. Why don't you have a go?
