Who stole a cookie from the cookie jar?
What You'll Need
History
This is a game that was brought over from
the US during the Second World War when there were many US soldiers
stationed in Britain.
How to Play
Everyone sits in a circle
on the floor.
Decide who will start the
game. This person shouts out "number 1". The person on
their left calls out "number 2" and continues until everyone
has called out a number. The number the last person calls out is
the total number of cookies in the cookie jar.
Everyone starts to chant.
"Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?
At the same time do the following actions. At
"who" clap your hands, at "stole" slap the top
of your legs "cookie" clap your hand, at "from"
slap the top of your legs, at "cookie" clap your hands,
at "jar " slap your legs.
Number 1 then chants "Number
stole the cookie from the cookie jar." Inserting whichever
number they wish.
Everyone else continue to clap and slap with the
rhythm.
(Number 5) stole the cookie from the cookie jar.
"Who me? Yes you! Couldn't be! Then who..."
Then it goes back to the second line. Etc
